No, not really. The fantastic thing about Swift compared to most other storage systems is that it's almost infinitely configurable. Of course, that can also be a challenge. To come up with a good hardware design, two relatively simple questions should be answered:
- What is the main use case(s) for the cluster?
- Roughly what is the initial size of the cluster?
Once those two questions are answered, it is much easier to start designing the hardware needed for a specific cluster.
